Eclipse came to existence in the summer 1997 when Chors (voc., bass) and Daamr (guit.) first met. After the confrontation of their music visions they decide they should create music together. They spend next few weeks creating some songs meant to be recorded in the future.

At the same time Chors and Daamr start looking for new musicians for the band. Matey (guit) joins the group at the beginning of 1998. This lineup starts regular rehearsals and working on their material to be recorded and presented live. They still look for a drummer. Unfortunately Matey is not able to cope with his problems and he leaves the band in the summer 1998. Chors and Daamr decide to concentrate on finishing their material for the first recording. A few technical problems appear (including postponing the session a few times), however, they manage to record five songs entitled "Dorsacharm's Venomous Colours".

  Eclipse starts promoting the material as much as it is possible and they get very good reviews for it. Soon they also get some serious offers concerning cooperation with potential publishers. One of the companies is English Blackend/Plastic Head which Eclipse decides to cooperate with. Contract is signed in May 1999 and Blackend decides to bring out their three albums. "Dorsacharm's Venomous Colours" is the first one produced as a mini album in February 2000. It is only then that this debut material is noticed and welcomed in press round the world and also found interesting by all important magazines.

During the promotion of "Dorsacharm's Venomous Colours" Maciek (guit.) and Damian (drums) join the band and with their help Eclipse plays a few concerts in Poland. As a quartet they begin preparing material for another album. In April 2000 Damian and Maciek leave the band since they fall behind with the band's development.

  After a few months spent on looking for new players Chors and Daamr decide to concentrate on creating new material again as a duo. They record their second album entitled "The Act of Degradation" in August 2001 in Cyberstudio. This material shows a brand new image of the group. Thirteen songs present a very mature music emanating extraordinary aggression.

  After the recording of The Act of Degradation band starts looking for new members again. Mathey comes back to the band after four-year absence as the second guitarist. At the same time Chors decides to give up playing the bass guitar and concentrate on vocals. It results in taking on new bass guitar player Mscislaw (Abusiveness). Another new face in the band is Wizun (drums) who plays as well in Abusiveness and Deivos. Band plays a few concerts in 2003 and starts working on new material. Due to members' private reasons it takes quite a long time to complete. What is more, Daamr decides to leave Eclipse and concentrate on music creation for his new band Indread Cold and working for Darzamat. Daamr's leaving forces the band to find a new guitar player. Belzagor (Slavland, Lugburz) becomes the new member and with his help the band starts working on the material for a new album.
